Forms are designed as industry standard SVG+HTML documents (compared to non-standard PDF).

Support for all modern browser input elements:

Decorate your forms using the extensive support for graphic shapes, e.g. text, lines, stars, n-gons, arrows, circles, ellipses, hearts, barcodes and qr-codes.

Any graphic shape (e.g. star, triangle, arrow) can be made an hyperlink with an url and a target frame.

Use cases

Form Studio is designed to support various use cases:

• Print only
• Print and online
• Online only (but since defined by paper size, easily printed)

Hosting

Forms can be hosted by yourself or in your personal Bjorn's Cloud folder.

When hosted in Bjorn's Cloud, all submissions are kept safe in the cloud and you can easily access all of them from the built-in UX (and download as CSV files). You receive an email as soon as a new submission is uploaded. Note that cloud hosted forms does not support uploading files, see the light version below.

There is also a light version of cloud hosting, submissions NOT stored in the cloud but you receive an email as soon as a new submission is uploaded. Files part of a submission are sent as email attachments.

Publishing

You can publish a form in a few different ways:

• Save to local file system
• Share using the system "share with" UX
• Uploaded to Google Drive
• Full Cloud Hosting, published to your personal folder in the Bjorn's Cloud, submission are kept safe in the cloud. ((requires a subscription)).
• Light Cloud Hosting, published to your personal folder in the Bjorn's Cloud, submissions are emailed to you as soon as they arrive. (requires a subscription).
• Printed (printer or PDF)

When hosting your form in the Bjorn's Cloud you get a few benefits:

• Email notifications when form submitted
• UX to manage and download all submissions
• Super-easy publishing and re-publishing

Professional designer

BFS is designed to be easy to use for the novice but to support the professional designer with features like:

• Element groups
• Conditional elements
• Graphics shape and input element styles
• Page layers
• Masterpages
• Overlays
• Palettes of custom elements
• Arrow shapes for pointing out elements or indicate flow
• Callout shapes for pointing out parts of form or certain elements

Conditional elements

Any input element or graphic (text, arrow etc) can be controlled with conditions.

For example you can make a group of elements (e.g. checkboxes or text) visible only when a checkbox is checked or a dropdown has a certain selection. Or, show a piece of text when a number input element is greater than a certain number.

You can design conditions using these operators:

• = (equal)
• != (not equal)
• > (greater than)
• >= (greater than or equal)
• < (less than)
• <= (less than or equal)

A condition can set these properties of an element:

• Visible
• Hidden
• Disabled
• Enabled

The app is (when installed) integrated with the host file system, i.e. you can use the 'Open with' feature to launch the app for a selected file.

Extensions that can be opened are:

• .formsproj
• .formsprojt
• .txt

Note that you have to install the app to enable file system integration.
